Jaume Monserrat heads the new group IBClusters, designed to enhance the scope and funding of innovative projects with Balearic stamp on the national and international environment. Also in his capacity as chairman of Turistec, the cluster information and communications technology applied to tourism, Dingus CEO ensures that the initiative seeks above all to “unite the voices and efforts of different groups, but with such common goals as the external positioning”.
 
This model, already implemented in other Spanish regions that did not exist in the Balearic islands, has been promoted to represent the entire business and research tissue located in the archipelago, and “vocation to grow, with capacity to bring more organizations and institutions interested in the unity of action, essential in the process of globalization in which we are immersed.”
 
IBClusters has as members the Audiovisual Cluster of the Balearic Islands (CLAB), Turistec, the Biotechnology and Biomedical Cluster also Islands (BIOIB), the Technological Innovation in Tourism (Balears.t), the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB ) and the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca, and the collaboration of the Cluster of Chemical Industry (CliqIB) and the Association of Technology-Based Companies of marine environment.
 
Among the first corporate actions included the establishment of relations of international cooperation and the identification of funding opportunities to support the initiatives of the partners. But above all consolidate cluster policy in the islands and the integration of key actors of the Balearic economy (knowledge centers and university, public administration and private sector). And all this to bring about “a change of more intensive economic model of creativity and knowledge to retain and attract talent and investment to the Balearic Islands”.
