Anahuac Cancun University has celebrated this February the “First Conference of Tourism Perspectives” for 2018 in Quintana Roo, where Dingus operates with its international office in Mexico. For this reason, and because of the collaboration links that the company maintains with the university center, our team in Mexico participated in the meeting, taking good note of the issues addressed.

The three panel discussions with leaders in their respective sectors focused on the challenges and strategies that the area needs to overcome and generate to remain a world tourism reference. In this sense, the director of the Faculty of Tourism and Gastronomy of Anahuac, Francisco Madrid Flores, highlighted “the positive balance of ten billion dollars of tourism -equivalent to an 8% growth-, something that shows that the industry is in the best moment”. For his part, the rector, Jesus Quirce Andrés, said that the intention of the University “is to continue developing talent, so that this year will begin the first Master’s degrees in tourism and already in 2019 will open the Doctorate in Tourism”.

With regard to the conferences, the director of our brand in Mexico highlights the importance transmitted to attendees about the technology for tourist distribution – in which Dingus has been working directly in the area for some years now – the growth and infrastructure of the tourist destination, information security and new channels focused on vacation rentals”. Víctor Lorenzo also pointed out that the forum recognized “the overriding need to innovate using technology to take advantage of new tourist distribution channels”.

Dingus congratulate the Universidad Anahuac Cancun for an initiative aimed at joining the efforts of the public, private and academic sectors, both to face new challenges and make proposals, as well as to highlight the relevance of the tourism industry in the economy of the Caribbean country.
